Firemen douse small fire Sunday at Walmart

A small fire at the Walmart Supercenter in Fulton Sunday afternoon was extinguished quickly by Fulton firemen.

Fulton Fire Chief Dean Buffington reported the department received a call reporting the fire at 4:56 p.m. Sunday.

When firemen arrived, store employees were already evacuating the building at 1701 N. Bluff St.

"Store personnel reacted appropriately and did a great job," Buffington said.

Firemen received a report of smoke in a structure. When the first engine company arrived, the incident was upgraded to a commercial structure fire call.
