Auxvasse man held on weapons charges

Smith was arrested on charges of unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action.

The Callaway County Sheriff's Office reported receiving a call at 2:17 a.m. Saturday about an assault involving a gun at the Green Meadows Trailer Park near Fulton.

Deputies said when they arrived Smith fled into the nearby woods.

The victim told deputies Smith was found in the residence and when confronted he produced a firearm threatening the victim.

Members of the Callaway County Sheriff's Office, Fulton Police Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol conducted an extensive manhunt of the area but Smith was not found.
