On Tuesday, April 16 six Fulton High School students got an idea of what it is like to work for the Missouri government in Jefferson City as a part of Rotary Student Government Day.

The students, Derrick Coffelt, Drake Oetting, Kevin Garwood, Victoria Langley, Gaspar Lourenco and Zack Atterberry, are all members of Gina McLachlan's business law class. The Fulton Rotary Club sponsored them, and Ray Brown, president, accompanied the group.

"They got more awareness of how government goes on and how it takes more than they thought to run it," said McLachlan, business education teacher and Future Business Leaders of America advisor.

Fulton was one of 13 communities represented at the 55th Annual Student Government Day hosted by the Rotary Club of Jefferson City. Pat Hyatt, a Rotarian from New Bloomfield who is a member of the Rotary Club of Jefferson City, served as the Fulton group's tour leader.
