Women's touring film festival features at Westminster

A fundraising film festival designed to showcase women filmmakers and the issues they portray will be coming to Westminster College Sunday.

The 12th annual Lunafest film festival will begin showing at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 14, in the Coulter Science Center on campus. It is open to the public and will benefit Central Missouri Community Action and the Breast Cancer Fund.

Jamie Haskins, Chaplain Director of Spiritual Life and faculty advisor for the Remley Women's Center, said the school was approached by CMCA, who had hosted the film festival in Columbia and other central Missouri areas in years past. Haskins said she jumped at the chance.

"We're always working to make sure that every part of our community is represented," Haskins said. "Our community is so diverse, whether it's international students or gender, and we always want to do all we can to educate and celebrate every part of our community."
