Auxvasse fire leaves family of four homeless

— The North Callaway Fire Protection District responded to a fire call 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Wilkerson trailer park off of County Road 262.

Upon arriving, officials said responders found the trailer to be about “50 percent involved” with the blaze confined to one end of the structure, according to firefighter Rebecca Stone.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze, but the home was left uninhabitable. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The family of two adults and two children were assisted by the American Red Cross Heart of Missouri chapter, which provided them with immediate needs and resources as well as hygiene kits.
