Winery hosts second annual tasting fundraiser for Our House

Many in Fulton might be looking to unwind a bit after work on Tax Day, and for the second year in a row, they can now do so for a good cause.

The annual Tax Day Wine Tasting fundraiser for Our House: Caring for Callaway's Homeless returns from 5-7:30 p.m. Monday, April 15 at Serenity Valley Winery near Millersburg.

Our House Executive Director Brad Sheppard said that last year's event was successful and brought in about $1,000 for the organization, which operates family and overnight shelters in Fulton.

"People were really receptive to the event and it's content; it's something different as a fundraiser," said Sheppard, who noted between 40 and 50 guests sampled wines last year. "Regina (Ruppert, winery owner) was very receptive to the idea of doing it again and is very community-minded, so we got one planned for Monday."
