South Callaway senior starter Bradley Smart tossed a one-hitter Tuesday night and the defending Class 2 state champion Bulldogs used an 11-hit attack to flatten Calvary Lutheran 11-0 in five innings.
Smart faced 19 batters in four innings, striking out three and walking a pair to post the victory as South Callaway - which has moved up to Class 3 this season - improved to 2-0.
"Bradley threw well for his first time out on the mound this season," Bulldogs head coach Jared Wood said. "He's going to have to be our No. 3 (starter) and he'll be pitching in some pretty big ballgames for us.
"We tinkered with his mechanics before games even started and he's adapting well to it."
