Surging T-Birds have to "keep getting better'

KINGDOM CITY - As the North Callaway Thunderbirds mount momentum, head coach Mike Emmons has an urgent reminder for his squad - don't relax.

North Callaway, winners of three in a row after opening the season 0-2, will concentrate on continuing its surge tonight when it travels to Wright City for an Eastern Missouri Conference encounter. Kickoff is at 7.

The Thunderbirds are 2-0 in the EMO after last week's 27-7 home victory over neighboring rival Montgomery County. Wright City, meanwhile, is coming off its first win of the season - 26-21 at home over conference foe Bowling Green. The Wildcats are 1-4 on the season and 1-2 in the EMO.

Having arrived at the midway point of the regular season last week, and with district play a month away, Emmons stressed that his squad can't afford to back off as it moves forward.
