Second Westminster campus won't drain resources at Fulton campus

Establishing a second campus of Westminster College in Mesa, Ariz., won't drain funds away from the Fulton campus of the college.

That's the message Westminster College is telling students in both the Westminster campus and on the new website opened this week at the new Mesa campus.

The Mesa campus is scheduled to open in the fall semester of 2013 and Westminster already is recruiting students.

Student applications are now being accepted for the Mesa campus for the 2013-14 academic year starting next September.

George Wolf, vice president and dean of enrollment services, said "students can have two very different academic and cultural experiences during their four years at Westminster and have expanded opportunities to intern at the many new major companies found in Mesa."

Major industries in Mesa include Boeing and Empire Southwest/Caterpillar.

President Barney Forsythe said Westminster is committed to maintaining the same high standards of academic excellence, staff and resources that is the hallmark of a Westminster education and establishing those same high standards for the students at Mesa.
