Community meeting offers chance to give feedback on plans for Brick District

Fulton area residents are invited once again to give their input into plans for downtown revitalization as planners with the DREAM initiative prepares to develop their final recommendations.

There will be a community meeting regarding development of the Brick District starting at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 3 at Beks Restaurant on Court Street.

"They want input from the community before they enter the final stage," said Nancy Lewis, director of the Kingdom of Callaway Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Brick District Committee. "After this meeting they'll come up with the plan for the next few years."

Andrew Murray with PGAV Planners said the meeting will serve as a kick off for the Downtown Strategic Plan, which he said will "incorporate all of the feedback generated" by a series of community meetings, surveys and gatherings of business leaders.

"What we're hoping to do is get folks re-engaged into the DREAM process and making sure all the recommendations from all the public meetings and reports are what is needed," Murray said. "Ultimately, the plan will then be given to the city for them to formally adopt it."
