Callaway County is offering a special service for its employees today.
From 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. the Callaway County Health Department is hosting a small health fair for employees enrolled in the county's self-funded benefits plan.
The event will include health screenings and vendors with booths to share information about their health-related services.
"We'll have a chiropractor, a farmer's market, we do immunizations, we have cholesterol screenings, glucose checks, we do BMI (body mass index), blood pressure checks, our insurance companies come and we'll have two or three farmers' market vendors," said Sharon Lynch, administrator of the Callaway County Health Department. "We do it just to support their health. It's very low-key; we're here to support them.
"We have a really good time, and we have, in past years, caught a few people in our screenings."
