The City of Auxvasse has issued a boil order for all water residents until lab sample results show the water is safe for consumption.
The order follows a water main break on North Main Street Monday. City Supervisor Justin Feger said the main has been fixed, but a lab test on water samples are still required to make sure there are no contaminants in the water as a result.
Feger said that the city's second well project to bring the city up to state code would not have alleviated the need for a boil order, but it possibly could have prevented the break altogether.
"It's one of our problematic lines that will be replaced in our plans," he said.
