The Callaway County Sheriff's Office is looking for three men who vandalized an area cemetery last week.

Board members with Old Auxvasse Nine Mile Presbyterian Church went into the church's cemetery Sunday to prepare for an upcoming funeral when they discovered four of the gravestones had been overturned.

"There was no rhyme or reason to it," said Rev. James Cruickshank. "The cemetery association has already called someone to come reset the stones, but we have no idea what the bill is going to be."

Cruickshank said the church has security cameras which managed to capture limited footage of the incident before the individuals involved turned them away - ostensibly in an attempt to protect their identities.

"One of our church members looked at the video before we gave it to the sheriff's office, and there were three males in a Ford F150," Cruickshank said.

Callaway County Sheriff Dennis Crane added to that description.

"There were three males in a Ford extended cab truck, late '80s to early '90s model," Crane said, noting it appears the vandals were on the premises for approximately six minutes. "One of them appeared to have some kind of medical condition that causes him to walk with a severe bow-legged gait."
