Callaway deputies bust underage drinking party sequel

Callaway County deputies arrested four people early today as they broke up an underage drinking party at a Lake Mykee home for the second weekend in a row.

While patrolling the subdivision around 2 a.m., a sheriff's deputy allegedly saw Christian D. Gentry, 18, holding a beer. Investigation revealed several minors had been drinking alcohol at the residence at 129 Manview Drive, the sheriff's department reports.

Gentry's mother, Corinne Watts, 44, of that address, is accused of allowing minors to have alcohol. She was released at the Callaway County Jail in Fulton after posting $500 bond.

At least one person fled the residence without getting caught, while one juvenile female was taken to the Fulton Police Department where she provided a breath sample and was released to her parents.

Blake W. Helton, 18, of Holts Summit; Brittany N. Hall, 20, of Jefferson City; and Gentry were all arrested on suspicion of possessing alcohol as minors. They were issued summons after providing breath samples at the county jail and released. Helton was one of several minors arrested on similar charges early last Sunday during a party at the same location.

The adult suspects are set to appear Sept. 28 in Callaway County court.

Editor's note: The press release incorrectly reports Gentry's age as 19 in its text, but his listed date of birth indicates age 18. The sheriff's department confirms the date of birth is correct.
