Three Callaway County residents were injured in two recent vehicle accidents.
Two Fulton men were injured in a nearly head-on collision Sunday on County Road 404 just south of Fulton.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 1991 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Russell L. Barnes, 27, Fulton was eastbound on County Road 404 about .2 mile west of County Road 403 when Barnes’s vehicle crossed the center line of the roadway and stuck a westbound 2005 Chevrolet Impala sedan nearly head-on driven by Chance E. Garriott, 28, Fulton.
Central Callaway Fire Protection District volunteers helped extricate Garriott from the vehicle by using emergency equipment to peel back the top of Garriott’s sedan.
The patrol reported Garriott had serious injuries and was transported by the Staff for Life Helicopter Service to University Hospital in Columbia.
