Festus — South Callaway softball coach Dave Odneal says his team’s season has been quite a ride so far. And a victory in the state playoffs made sure the Lady Bulldogs’ campaign will continue.
South Callaway received a pair of home runs and three of its four runs driven in from junior first baseman Abby Bartley in the Lady Bulldogs’ 4-2, Class 2 sectional win over the Jefferson (Festus) Lady Blue Jays on Wednesday night.
With the victory, South Callaway (19-8) hosts defending state champion Palmyra at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Lady Bulldogs’ first-ever trip to the state quarterfinals.
