After years of being closed, Steedman's CC Store has returned as CC Pit Stop, once again offering residents here a more local place for food, groceries and supplies.

CC Pit opened its doors Monday at 8321 State Road CC, after being bought by Tim Atterberry and his uncle and father, Rick and Sonny.

Tim Atterberry had bought the building after it closed with his construction company to renovate and sell, but in the process decided to actually take a crack at ownership himself, along with his family.

Becky Atterberry, Tim's wife and CC operating manager, said that their goal was to bring back the store as a place to serve the Steedman community.

"We had the opportunity to do it, and a lot of people in that area haven't had the store or the restaurant open for a long time," she said. "They had nowhere to go other than drive all the way to Fulton to get things, and (the owners) wanted a new adventure."

In addition to being a restaurant, CC also serves as a convenience store and an RV park. The Atterberrys plan to open the bar portion of the store sometime next week.
