Linn The South Callaway Lady Bulldogs used a big third-inning to catapult themselves into the Class 2 state softball tournament. South Callaway — the No. 1 seed in the Class 2, District 9 tournament — disposed of the second-seeded Belle Lady Tigers 14-1 in five innings to claim the district title Monday night.
With the victory, the Lady Bulldogs will play the Class 2, District 10 champion Jefferson (Festus) Lady Blue Jays (12-9) 6 p.m. Wednesday in Festus. Festus won its district title with a 12-2 win over (St. Louis) Metro High School on Monday.
