Central Methodist hands No. 23 Lady Owls first loss of season

FAYETTE — Despite limiting Central Methodist University to 33-percent shooting, the No. 23 William Woods University Lady Owls suffered their first loss of the season in being edged by the Lady Eagles 61-60 on Tuesday night.

William Woods (4-1) took a 28-23 lead into halftime, but was outscored by Central Methodist 38-32 in the second half. The Lady Eagles — who connected on just 25-of-77 shots for the game — remained unbeaten at 7-0.
