South Callaway has made headway in its recent football history against Blair Oaks, but Bulldogs head coach Tim Rulo still sees the Falcons as the standard-bearer.
South Callaway defeated Blair Oaks for the first time in school history in 2010, stopping the Falcons' remarkable run of nine straight district titles. The Bulldogs then followed that up by blasting Blair Oaks 45-19 in district play last year.
However, the Falcons earned their retribution in the state playoffs, ending South Callaway's 2011 season with a 14-8 victory in a Class 2 sectional clash in Mokane.
No. 2 seed South Callaway (10-1) will be seeking its own piece of payback when it travels to Wardsville on Monday night to battle top-seeded Blair Oaks (10-1) in another highly-anticipated, state-ranked showdown for the District 6 championship. Kickoff is at 7.
