Hunger Games come to Callaway

About 23 “tributes” entered the woods near Routes JJ and Z in Kingdom City Saturday with weapons in hand. They climbed trees, hid in bushes and tried to do everything they could to keep an edge over their opponents, knowing that only one of them would be left standing when all was said and done.

Their weapons, of course, were foam, and none of them were starving citizens of Districts forced into a deadly competition like in the popular “Hunger Games” series of books and movies. These two dozen or so young adults are “Hunger Games” enthusiasts who acted out the titular game of cat and mouse for fun.
