Hornets tennis team conquers Hannibal, claims District 7 title

HANNIBAL — The Fulton Hornets tennis team cashed in by delivering with its doubles play.

Fulton split the six singles matches but swept the three doubles contests Wednesday night as the Hornets toppled North Central Missouri Conference adversary Hannibal 6-3 to capture the Class 1, District 7 championship.

“The guys just took care of business, especially in doubles,” Fulton head coach Louis Schnoebelen said. “We’ve been making money there all season and I was confident they would continue to do that.

“They stepped up and got it done.”
