Parents looking for ways to entertain their children over the summer break will have a new option, thanks to Youth On Up.
The group will be hosting a free summer day camp July 17-20 at the John C. Harris Community Center. From 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day, area youth ages 8-14 will participate in activities ranging from sports and crafts to educational sessions. The camp also will include breakfast, lunch and snacks.
“The school summer program is not as big this year, so we thought we would do something to help keep the kids out of trouble,” said Youth On Up volunteer Yolanda Smith, who has been assisting the camp coordinators.
