Owls’ Carr chosen co-AMC player of year

William Woods University senior outfielder-pitcher Brian Carr has been named the 2012 American Midwest Conference co-player of the year, sharing the award with Park University third baseman Kyle Clifton.

Carr was a first-team pick as an outfielder on the all-AMC first team and an honorable-mention choice as a pitcher. Also named the conference’s newcomer of the year, Carr batted .449 this season and had a .978 fielding percentage.
