Hornets tennis team topples Marshall, hits 20-win plateau

MARSHALL — The Fulton Hornets tennis team achieved a milestone while gaining some redemption.

Fulton reached 20 wins in a season for the first time in the program’s history after Thursday night’s 9-3 North Central Missouri Conference victory over Marshall. The Hornets also atoned for a 5-4 loss to the host Owls at Wednesday’s Marshall Tournament, ending up in a three-way tie with Marshall and Kirksville for first place.

With Thursday night’s win, Fulton improved to 20-3 on the season and 7-2 in the NCMC.
