No. 25 William Woods, No. 8 Shawnee St. kick off tourney this morning

William Woods University Lady Owls basketball coach Dan Chapla leans back in his chair after practice last Saturday morning in Anderson Arena. There's a method to Chapla's madness of starting practice this early on a weekend morning.

William Woods' draw in the 32nd-annual NAIA Division I women's national tournament in Frankfort, Ky., starts this morning, with a 7:30 a.m. Central Standard Time tipoff in the first round against Shawnee State (Ohio). The No. 25 Lady Owls - winners of five in a row - are 23-9 on the season, while the No. 8 Lady Bears are 27-5.
