Pair of McCawley homers help Owls split doubleheader

William Woods sophomore catcher Derek McCawley smacked 3-run homers in back-to-back games, helping the Owls split a pair of games road games against the McKendree University Bearcats on Saturday. They dropped the first game 15-11 but prevailed 11-6 in the final contest to take the series.

Sophomore starter Adam Brush was roughed up for four earned runs on six hits in just an inning of work against the Bearcats to take the loss in the first game. William Woods was scored on in each of the first five innings, giving up three runs in frames one, three and four and five runs in the fifth.
