No. 4 DePauw trips Lady Blue Jays

— The Westminster College Lady Blue Jays were tasked with containing the nation’s most efficient 3-point shooting team in the first round of the NCAA Division III women’s tournament.

And Westminster did an admirable job, holding No. 4 DePauw College — shooting 38.5 percent from long-range going into Friday night’s game — to a woeful 7-percent showing (1-for-13). Westminster — making its first-ever Division III tournament appearance — was outscored 27-8 by DePauw in the game’s final 12 minutes, ending the Lady Blue Jays’ season with a 66-46 loss to the host Lady Tigers at Neal Fieldhouse.
