Four men and women from Fulton and Russellville were arrested June 23-24 after a Stephens citizen came home to find them leaving with his farm equipment.
The Callaway County Sheriff's Office received a report of
stealing in progress around 4:21 p.m. June 23 when a
Stephens resident returned to his home on County Road 269
just in time to find a truck hauling his farm machinery off of his property on a trailer. The resident pursued the suspect vehicle, which had turned east on County Road 266 from State Road DD before driving into a field with a blown tire.
Sheriff's deputies and troopers with the State Highway Patrol responded to the area, where they found Wendell S. Belisle, 37, of Fulton, hiding near the truck. Though a search of the area with the Highway Patrol's air unit did not locate any more suspects at that time, an overnight investigation lead to the arrest of John D. Belisle, 33 of Fulton, Angelia Clark, 41 of Russellville and Timothy Valdez, 48 of Fulton, near Calwood and Kingdom City.
