Four people were injured in two Callaway County vehicle accidents during the weekend.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a Holts Summit couple was injured Sunday when their vehicle ran off the road.
A 2006 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Barbara A. Quick, 62, Holts Summit, was northbound at 2:32 p.m. Sunday on U.S. 63 about 300 feet south of County Road 395 when the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway, overturned and hit a mailbox, the patrol reported.
Quick sustained minor injuries. Oliver T. Quick, 67, Holts Summit, her husband and a passenger in the vehicle, had minor injuries. Both were transported by ambulance to Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
Both occupants were wearing seat belts and the vehicle was demolished, the patrol reported.
On Saturday night two people were injured in a rear end collision on U.S. 63 in Callaway County.
The patrol reported the accident occurred when a 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis driven by Alphonso D. Cason, 41, Columbia, was southbound on U.S. 63 about 2.3 miles north of U.S. 54 and was disabled on the roadway with no lights on because of a previous accident. Cason’s vehicle was struck in the rear by a southbound 2013 Lincoln MKS driven by William T. McNamara, 57, of Gary, Ind.
