Lisa Coldiron's Hot Iron Salon served Fulton for five and a half years at their Manor Drive location off of Bluff Street, but she wanted more.

"We needed a bigger building with more space," said Coldiron. "I wanted to add more services, like facials, massage and tanning."

This prompted the salon's move to their current location, off of Market Street in downtown Fulton, where business has been booming since it opened its doors July 10.

Coldiron was able to add facial services through help of one of her stylists who had knowledge of skin care, and Coldiron hired her friend, Naomi Cozean, as Hot Iron's salon therapist after she studied massage in Texas. Coldiron said that the addition of the new services - which also include manicures and pedicures - have helped business, but the new visibility after the move from the north side of town is another big factor.

"I just love the downtown feel," said Coldiron. "All the businesses seem to be like a little family downtown, they're really welcoming, helping each other out. It seemed like the perfect location for us."
