Bernard L. Henderson, 29 - who also was wanted on active drug warrants out of Cole County - was arrested at a local hotel after the Fulton Police Department received a tip regarding his whereabouts at approximately 9 a.m.

"This is a guy we've been looking for for quite a while," said Sgt. Bill Ladwig. "We received information that people were holding him in the community."

According to an FPD press release, officers made contact with Capreice D. Smith, 22, at a local motel room based on that information. Smith denied Henderson was in the room, but upon searching officers found him hiding within an enclosed bed frame under the mattress.

Ladwig said Smith was arrested for hindering prosecution for "knowing Henderson was wanted and assisting in hiding him" as well as on a warrant for property damage.
