New Bloomfield — The Callaway County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two men suspected of stealing scrap metal in the New Bloomfield area.

Arrested were Alexander B. Campbell, 19, of 381 Callaway County Road 371 near New Bloomfield, and Mathew S. White-Bull, 20, of 410 Brooks St. in Jefferson City.

Callaway County Sheriff Dennis Crane said the office had received complaints of scrap metal thefts from three New Bloomfield area residences.

“Through the course of the investigation,” Crane said, “it was learned that the suspects were scrapping the metal at Advantage Metal recycling near Holts Summit.”
