Former alderman George "Trey" Baumgartner III was arrested on drug charges on Jan. 5 for the second time in two months.
Baumgartner, 30, was arrested by the Callaway County Sheriff's Office on $5,000 bond after information obtained during a burglary investigation led officials to believe Baumgartner had drugs at his residence.
"Basically information was developed while working on a burglary investigation that led to a narcotics search warrant for Mr. Baumgartner's residence for narcotics," Sheriff Dennis Crane said Friday. "There were syringes found and a substance suspected to be meth - we've sent it to the lab."
He was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Crane would not specify whether Baumgartner was the subject of the burglary investigation, but according to Missouri Case.net he was arrested by the Auxvasse Police Department on Jan. 3 on a charge of felony first degree burglary and a charge of felony theft/stealing any controlled substance.
