Ashland By the time the buzzer sounded, Fulton Lady Hornets junior guard Stephanie Hughes had a career high in points and a feeling she had never experienced as a basketball player.
Oh, and Hughes was still a little bit sore from a mild rotator-cuff strain in her right shooting shoulder.
“I definitely didn’t think it was going to come out the way it did,” Hughes said of her injury. “... I was hoping I didn’t do anything to it again, but it felt all right.”
Hughes torched North Callaway for 26 points as No. 6 seed Fulton topped the No. 4 Ladybirds 67-53 in the girls’ fifth-place game of the 28th-annual Southern Boone Classic on Friday night.
