Ashland — The North Callaway Thunderbirds were outshot at the free-throw line by almost 4-to-1 in a 64-48 loss to the California PIntos in Thursday night’s semifinals of the 27th-annual Southern Boone Classic.
No. 7 seed North Callaway was just 3-of-9 from the foul line, while No. 3 California converted 21-of-32 attempts. The loss stopped the Thunderbirds’ three-game winning streak.
