Ministry takes television program and focus overseas

In just about a year, Yahweh's Restoration Ministry in Holts Summit has expanded the reach of its message from its congregation of 50 to potentially 120 million viewers internationally.

"Discover the Truth," the church's evangelical television program that began on cable access in 2006 and was picked up by DISH Satellite Channel 262 in June, has been signed to the Church Channel, which carries approximately 45 million viewers in the US and 120 million overseas via satellite.

"We've been in existence for about 12 years, and it's only been in the last year we were able to go national in broadcast," said YRM minister Randy Folliard. Now with the church channel to go international, it's an extremely positive time for the ministry, and it's something we really hope to propel the ministry beyond where we are today."

Folliard said the deal came about after they were contacted by Jared Wilkins, of the Mass Media Group's Covenant Media, a religious programming agency. YRW penned a one-year deal with the channel this month, securing broadcasts at 9:30 a.m. central time Wednesdays and 10:30 a.m. Saturdays.

Broadcasts on The Church Channel will begin Jan. 2. The program will also start airing on local airwaves on KOMU CW Jan. 6 at 9:30 a.m. Sundays.
