Two fugitives sought by Callaway County Sheriff’s Office

The Callaway County Sheriff’s Office is seeking two fugitives who fled after a deputy stopped a vehicle they were in Friday near Calwood.

Sought are Jeffrey Dale Strickland, 37, and Dustin Wade Brewer, 32.

The Sheriff’s Department reported a vehicle was stopped near the Wright Brothers Store in Calwood at 9:20 a.m. Friday.

Deputies reported Strickland left the vehicle and attempted to run away. When the deputy tried to stop Strickland, the deputy said he was assaulted by Strickland, causing an injury to the deputy’s hand. Strickland then ran away.

After an extensive search of the area by deputies, Strickland was not found.

Brewer drove the vehicle away while the deputy was pursuing Strickland.

Strickland has two other outstanding warrants for his arrest and Brewer has six outstanding warrants for his arrest.

Both men are still at large. In addition to their previous arrest warrants, Strickland is now wanted for assault on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest and Brewer is now wanted for resisting arrest and driving a vehicle while his driver’s license is suspended.
