Two WWU riders excel in dressage competition

Both competed at Illinois event

Two William Woods University equestrian summer workers, Krista Spencer and Heather Kruse, won awards during last weekend's dressage competition in the Centerline Dressage Classic at Springfield, Ill.

They attended the event with William Woods University's dressage instructor, Karen Pautz of Fulton.

Spencer won the Fourth Level Championship, which is the highest nationally recognized level before horse and rider pairs go on to compete at international levels.

Spencer made her Fourth Level debut on WWU's Take Over (Tigger). Spencer won both her classes and scored higher than all other Fourth Level riders, including juniors, amateurs and open riders. Her effort earned Spencer the Fourth Level Championship at the event.

Spencer had competed for her Bronze Medal earlier this summer. Her Fourth Level scores from the Centerline event will count toward her Fourth Level Silver Medal during her next Prix St. Georges dressage competition.
