Hornets come out flat at Blair Oaks jamboree

Fulton will work to clean up mistakes before opener at School of the Osage

It's just a practice. A glorified practice.

That's what Fulton Hornets head football coach Pat Kelley emphasized to his players following their final scrimmage against the Kirksville Tigers at the Blair Oaks jamboree Friday night.

But it was no excuse.

If jamboree scrimmages are the unofficial start to the high school football campaign, Fulton will gladly wipe away Friday night's play and start anew next week in the 2012 season opener at School of the Osage.

The Hornets' offense went 0-for the-night against its three opponents - the Blair Oaks Falcons, Tipton Cardinals and North Central Missouri Conference foe Kirksville - driving deep into each team's red zone but showing nothing for it.
