From usage rates to the new well project, residents here have questions - and a few gripes - regarding water.
At the city council meeting Tuesday, a citizen approached the council to argue against the costly well installation project that would add a second well source.
The council's response was cut and dry: It is a state mandate that a town Auxvasse's size must have two sources of water, and adding a second well is the most cost-effective solution to bring the city up to code.
"It's just as much money, or more, to buy water from Callaway II Water District than it is to make a new well," said alderman Terry Walker. "(A new well) is a good thing... there's a lot of problems with only one source of water. If that goes tainted or dry, (people) would be down here asking why they can't take a shower."
