Around 12:18 a.m. Aug. 10, a deputy recognized Nathan Furlong, 19, of Mokane, driving a white SUV. The deputy knew that Furlong had a suspended driver’s license and attempted to stop the vehicle in Fulton, at which point Furlong sped off and led officers on a 12-mile chase on various state and county roads. The pursuit ended in a residential backyard on County Road 421, where Furlong and his passengers, 19-year-old Katrina Hanger of New Bloomfield and 21-year-old Shane Thomas of Fulton, fled on foot.

Still not seeing what law the passengers broke.... Running isn't against the law is it?

running from the police is against the law. They weren't out for a sunday jog, the vehicle crashed and they left the scene of the accident when the police wanted to question them. had they stayed there and talked to the authorities they probably would not have been arrested. I know people in a similar situation that didn't leave the vehicle after the chase ended and were not arrested while the driver was.

I guess that would make sense.
