The Kingdom of Callaway County Fair has a strong association with the county's 4-H and FFA programs, particularly when it comes to providing area youth an opportunity to show the swine, sheep, goats and cattle they have worked so hard to raise.

Equally important - especially to those seeking a break from this summer's record heat while touring the fairgrounds - are the home arts projects on display in the Red Barn.

Thanks to a constant breeze facilitated by two large fans, and a variety of items to take in ranging from arts and crafts to cakes and canned goods, the barn often is a popular destination at the fair.
