Legislation would designate highway to honor veterans

Rep. Jeanie Riddle, R-Mokane, is sponsoring legislation that would designate State Road 94 in Callaway County as the AMVETS Memorial Highway.

The legislation, known as House Bill 1878, passed the Missouri House on March 28 by a vote of 146 to 0.

Riddle’s bill moved then to the Missouri Senate and was approved Wednesday by the Senate Transportation Committee, which includes Sen. Mike Kehoe, R-Jefferson City, who represents Callaway County. Kehoe is handling the legislation in the Missouri Senate.
