One night after a dramatic comeback victory, the Fulton Hornets baseball team lacked offensive punch while crippling itself with a pair of costly defensive lapses.
Fulton managed just five hits, all singles, in falling to the Marshall Owls 4-2 in a North Central Missouri Conference matchup Wednesday night at the high school athletic complex.
The Hornets — after overcoming a five-run deficit in Tuesday night’s 10-7 NCMC home victory over Moberly — slipped to 2-5 overall and 1-3 in conference play.
