Zerr, Starkey elected to NoCal School Board

Incumbent Dennis Zerr will be returning to the North Callaway School Board, alongside newcomer Scott Starkey.

Zerr won 36.86 percent of the vote, with Starkey taking 34.13 percent and opponent Curt Warfield winning 28.21 percent in Tuesday's election.

Zerr, who has served on the North Callaway School Board for nine years, said he is "just looking forward to continuing on the board."

"I don't have a particular agenda, I just want to do whatever I can to keep doing everything I can to work for North Callaway," he said.

Starkey, who said he had decided to run for the school board because Zerr asked him to, said he has similarly simple goals.

"I'm just looking forward to working with the other board members and trying to improve our school district for the kids," Starkey said.

Zerr and Starkey will be officially sworn in at the school board's regular meeting on April 19.
