Nickelson, Matthews' HRs top off Hornets' comeback

Fulton surges past Moberly 10-7, picks up first NCMC win of season

The Fulton Hornets summoned some vigor when they rallied for five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, tying Tuesday night's North Central Missouri Conference game with Moberly.

Seniors Jake Nickelson and Jake Matthews, though, put the emphasis on Fulton's rousing rally an inning later.

Nickelson blasted a two-run home run and Matthews followed with a solo shot in the sixth, sending the Hornets to their first NCMC win of the season with a 10-7 triumph over the Spartans at the high school athletic complex.
