From sun up to sun down, a live radio broadcast will be on the air, drawing attention to this year's United Way kick-off event.

The 12th annual Callaway County United Way Radio-thon will begin at 6 a.m. and run until 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, at the Fulton Walmart parking lot. The radio-thon begins United Way's campaign, which will run until Dec. 31. Last year, the program made its $260,000 goal. This year, the same amount was set.

"Although the need has increased," said Peg Dzicek, CCUW Community Impact Chair, "we felt that it would be better to have a goal that we could reach."
