During her program update to the Fulton School Board on Sept. 14, Director of Food Services Rhonda Fletcher informed members that the district continues to see an increase in the number of students participating in the government-funded free and reduced lunch program.
Fletcher said 53 percent of students district-wide are enrolled in the program as of August, and noted that she expects that number to continue to rise.
"That ranges from 42 percent at the high school to 63 percent at some of the elementaries," Fletcher said. "(With the economy), I feel like we'll see that percentage continue to grow."
