The South Callaway R-2 Board of Education Wednesday night restored next year's graduation night to Friday night after earlier moving it to Sunday afternoon.
By a vote of 6 to 1, the board reversed its earlier decision to shift graduation from a Friday night in May of 2012 to a Sunday afternoon in May. The board settled on Friday, May 18, 2012, as the new graduation night.
The board acted after a delegation of students and parents of the senior class appeared at the board meeting. Melody Troesser represented the senior students and parents before the board.
Troesser said many parents had made plans far in advance because they had assumed graduation would be on a Friday night as it has been in previous years.
